The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Reales (7-1) in La Romana on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Caneros (5-3) 98-94. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Caneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Yeison Colome (190-1996, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 5 assists. point guard Raimer Santana (183-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Nahziah Carter (198-1999, college: Washington, agency: BMS Sport Agency) replied with 20 points and 4 assists for Reales. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caneros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Marineros. Defending champion Reales still keep top position with one game lost. Caneros is looking forward to face Metros (#6) in Santiago in the next round. Reales will play at home against Titanes (#5) and are hoping to win this game.

However their fans expected much easier game. American guard Nahziah Carter (198-1999, college: Washington, agency: BMS Sport Agency) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lewis Duarte chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. The best for the losing side was Kevin Perez with 20 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Leones lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Reales will play against Titanes (#5) in San Cristobal in the next round. Leones' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santo Domingo to the arena Soles.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 6: Indios were beaten by Metros on the road 73-60. Marineros won against Metros on its own court 86-72. Titanes managed to outperform Soles in San Cristobal 90-77. Bottom-ranked Leones recorded a loss to Indios at home 86-92.



Metros - Indios 73-60

There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Metros (4-6) beat second-best Indios (5-4) in Santiago 73-60 on Monday. Metros made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Even 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) did not help to save the game for Indios. Metros maintains sixth position with 4-6 record. Indios at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost.
